West Yorkshire Spinners
West Yorkshire Spinners built a strong reputation for high-quality natural-fibre yarns. By 2012, they launched their own yarn – Fleece 100% Bluefaced Leicester – to help champion British wool and its fascinating heritage. Using all their knowledge and working closely with farmers and wool merchants, they started to build a range of unique and innovative products that showcased what could be achieved by blending British wool and manufacturing ingenuity.
From the finest and purest breed-specific fleece to delicate Mulberry silk, sustainable British alpaca and natural plant fibres, West Yorkshire Spinners materials inspire everything they do and their process is crafted around each fibre and blend. This care and attention also extends into dyeing as they work with local dyers and their own in-house dye plant to ensure quality and consistency. Their pattern collections are curated around their own unique stories, inspired by the Yorkshire countryside and beyond.
Extolling the virtues of British wool is important to West Yorkshire Spinners, they know it’s crucial to provide a complete – and fully transparent – story for people who want to craft with the highest-quality fibres. Through the British Wool licensing scheme, they’re assured of responsibly sourced fleece, from the field to our mill, and they are also proud supporters of the Campaign For Wool, which raises awareness about the benefits of wool for people and the environment.
